Phantom on the Nile 　《尼羅河魅影之謎》 

Synopsis

   A Greek legend goes that in Thebes, Sphinx, a winged lion with a woman’s head, questions all passersby the history’s most famous riddle: "Which creature in the morning goes on four feet, at noon on two, and in the evening upon three?" She strangled anyone unable to answer. This has been a story in mythology, but not anymore from the time Lin Ruo-Ping, a young professor of philosophy and amateur detective, receives a strange letter that begins with that famous riddle from Sphinx.

In the letter, Sphinx challenges Lin Ruo-Ping to match wits on the Nile. Lin Ruo-Pin has been arranged to participate in a sightseeing group that will have a nice cruise on the Nile and stay in Egypt for ten days. Sphinx’s riddles will be presented when Lin Ruo-Pin is on the cruise. The death threat goes that if he cannot solve the riddles before the ship pulls in to shore, someone’s life will be taken by Sphinx, like those passersby in the Greek myth.

Lin Ruo-Pin sets off to Egypt to meet one of his most baffling cases in his career. Before he unravels the shocking identity of Sphinx, things beyond expectation happen…
